Avalon Beach Culture Collective Inc.

See FRAMING AVALON BEACH from
the comfort of your own home

We have been delighted with the interest shown by residents and visitors in the Framing Avalon Beach community trail. Now we have an exciting new way of having the FAB experience.

Take the community trail, arm chair-style, with your guide Richard, a long-time resident of Avalon Beach, as he visits 8 sites that take you back in time while being right in the heart of this special place. We invite people from around the world to look at, reflect on and share what makes Avalon Beach unique. Join Richard at each site as he looks through the frame to see in real life, a current local vista, then reflects on the historic photo to picture what was there in bygone days.

This tour will be of interest to anyone, but particularly to those who have had an association with Avalon Beach in the past. There will be many who no longer live in the area, but would like to experience the look, reflect, share nature of Framing Avalon Beach through the tour. Others may be unable to manage the walk, but would love to experience it with Richard on line.

Avalon resident, Richard Jeffery, in conjunction with Centenary celebration organisers, Avalon Beach Culture Collective Inc, will be offering two virtual tours using the Heygo Tours website. The tours are free, although participants are encouraged to tip your guide. Richard will pass on all tips (after Heygo admin charges) to the Avalon Beach Culture Collective fund.

Each tour will be between 45 and 60 minutes long. Tour 1 (Sites 1-8) will go from Dunbar Park to the cinema, via Avalon Beach and the Yellow Brick Road. Tour 2 (Sites 9-16) will start at Avalon Golf Club, go via the Public School and Gunjulla Homestead, and end at Angophora Reserve. You will have a real-time commentary and be able to text questions and comments to the guide. Each tour is limited to fifty people, however if the tour is over-subscribed, we may offer two more tours before the event ends in June. Book here.

Click ‘Following’ then select the Framing Avalon Beach 1 & 2 tours. Make a note of the time and dates and log in at the appropriate time. Heygo will send you a reminder a day or so before the tour plus a link to the tour with all the details.

If you have already taken the tour, and know people who would enjoy the experience, please pass this information on to them. We expect that places will go fast, so do not delay. Anyone with questions or issues pre-tour can contact Richard Jeffery at JefferyGenealogy@hotmail.com or call him on 0448238227. Get a better idea of Heygo Tours here. They offer exciting fascinating virtual tours all over the world.
